The Highest energy and destiny of carrying Dragonfly Medicine is the Principal of Vibration.

A Southwest Native American Myth says:

The speed in which the wings of a dragonfly moved would open doorways to other realms and dimensions. Some legends say that Dragonfly was once Dragon. Dragon had scales like Dragonfly’s wings. Dragon was full of wisdom, and flew through the night bringing light with its fiery breath. The breath of Dragon brought forth the art of magic and the illusion of changing form. Then Dragon got caught in its own façade . Coyote tricked Dragon into changing form, thus the shape of its new body became like Dragonfly’s. In accepting the challenge to prove its power and magical prowess, Dragon lost its power.

The Dragonfly has wisdom for us all. Don’t give away your power.

Dragonfly Medicine represents the Dream-Time  , the illusionary façade we accept as physical reality. The Illusion, and the Power of Light. Dragonfly is the power of light vibrations.

Dragonfly inhabits two realms,… Air and Water and the influence of both these elements will be felt by Dragonfly people. Dragonfly strips away the illusions that says, we cannot achieve our dreams and goals, that we are not worthy or capable, when in fact it is our birthright, and our true power to achieve our goals and dreams.

We begin to see how the colors we wear via our clothing, the colors that we fill our homes with, even the color of the car we drive is impacting us for better or worse. Continually wearing dull drab colors while asking for more adventures or excitement in life sends the message, I don’t really want what I’m asking for.

The colors we surround ourselves with sets up a vibration that attracts circumstances, people, and energies, that reflect back to us messages we are sending forth.

When we want change we need to affirm that we are ready and willing for the changes to occur through the use of color vibrations matching the energy we are seeking to experience. When one wants to become better recognized for the work one loves doing, then wearing shades of red or violet will help one achieve that.

For new beginnings try wearing shades of green. Feel more empowered wearing shades of yellow. To feel more deeply connected with the Universe and to develop greater intuitive ability, all shades of blues and indigo are excellent!

Color is vibration, a very valuable tool in expressing who we are, who we desire to be, and what we desire to experience in our lives.

Looking at the world around, one sees. All of nature sets forth its intent and requests through the use of a vast range of color vibrations. A flower will attract a pollinator through its color. A Tree Frog may warn predators that it is not good to eat through the colors it displays on its body. A Lion can attract a mate through the color of his mane.

Working with Dragonfly Medicine teaches us how to use color to attract that which we desire or at least, to understand what messages we, ourselves are putting forth through the color vibrations we project. There are Beautiful Colors of the Rainbow in the Dragonfly wings.

People who carry Dragonfly Medicine are often quite talented in the use of Color for healing. They see or sense the colors that an individual carries in their aura. Learning how to help the person adjust the color rays so that one becomes a part of their own healing process, rather than relying on someone else to do the healing for them.

Dragonfly people are very talented in helping others navigate their own emotional waters. How often have you heard someone say they “felt Blue” or “tickled Pink”? Our emotions have colors just the same as our world, it is filled with color. Yep, and so are we.

In our culture uncontrolled emotions are not “nice”, people are not encouraged to feel the wide range of emotions we have been blessed with, so often this energy gets trapped or stuffed down, especially in the lower chakras. Give Peace A Chance

Give Peace A Chance

I remember like it was just yesterday. The peaceful marches we saw on our old black and white TV's. I remember thinking, when I grow up I will work to make this world better for I do not see color, I have always just seen people as that, PEOPLE, HUMAN BEINGS. I remember the sit-ins we used to have at the University of Texas, our arms interlocked as we sang songs of peace. We were young enough to believe we could make a change and eradicate racism. We were so young and naïve. Yet all my life wherever I have been planted my heart still cries out Please, Give peace A Chance.

Every act of racism that we are shown on the news breaks my heart. I am a Minister of Peace for a reason. I chose the seminary because it was based on St. Francis, who in my experience brought a huge message of PEACE. I have chosen to BE the PEACE I want to see in the world.

Is that enough? For someone of my age, who has lived through this so many times, I do believe that it is. I pray and I trust that the good will somehow shine forth in the darkness that has shrouded our country. We are all wearing one or more shrouds of anger, hate, frustration, depression and shock and deep soul aching grief.

How do we turn those shrouds into joyous dancing cloths that we can wave together making a tremendous colorful vibration of mutual spirits binding peace to covers our nation, and yes, our planet. America is not the only place that is walking through this horrendous racism and prejudice, ignorance and apathy.

We need to stop ALL of the violence. We need to wake up and see that racism and prejudice are EVERYWHERE. It has NOT changed since the 60's. People have just turned a blind eye all these years, until a moment in time when cell phones caught the incidents that will forever be embedded in our hearts. We need to stop the Hate, for hate only gives birth to more hate.

We might not have a Martin Lutheran King, Jr. to raise the awareness, we have hundreds of people who will use their phones to videotape the scenes of brutality and none of us need to be told  that the police are reviewing the tape to see if there was any reason for such use of force. We all have eyes and ears to see for ourselves what happened.

Lady Justice needs to take her blindfold off so she can see what is happening and judge righteously no matter who has murdered who. We all need to look in our own communities with eyes wide open, without blame or hatred, and begin to work toward a more peaceful union. For we are all human being, regardless of the color of our skin, the religion we choose to worship in, or the differences of our lifestyles. It's time to join hands with one another, laying down the weapons of warfare and picking up the flag of peace.

Daddy's Miss America

I usually write something about Mother's Day and Father's day, either here or on Facebook. This year the days came so quickly that I gave myself permission not to write.


Plus I had just watched hours of movies taken when I was little and the emotions that came up were very interesting to me.

I watched as my dad held me gently, as if his big hands would break me somehow. Then a huge grin began to take shape on his face, and I could  hear him calling me his little Miss America. I watched as he taught me to fish, as he stood ever so close when I was walking on the shores of Windy Point on Lake Travis. I remember those fishing and swimming excursions like they just happened yesterday.

So many good memories surfaced even of my Mom, who was not the easiest person to live with or be around at times. I saw this tenderness and love in her demeanor as she held me, as she played with me on the slide and how she laughed when I would laugh. Those are memories that have been clouded over for way too many years. Although we made our peace before she died, there were still things that I needed time to heal from, and I did, but seeing her in those old silent movies showed me a very vulnerable woman who wanted so bad to be a good mom and a good wife. She just didn't know how.

The hours I watched those movies were so very healing in areas I thought were already healed. I felt wanted, loved and cherished. So as Mother's Day came and went I was silently reveling in my mother's gentleness. When Father's Day came and went I was also still in that crystal clear place where my Father's unconditional acceptance of who I was (and am) encompassed me like only his love could do. For this year I thought that my tribute to them really was wrapped in and around those movies. 

That being said and done, I had a wedding to prepare for. Jeremy and Briana asked me to officiate at their 'Western Wedding.' I was so honored that they chose me to pronounce them husband and wife. The wedding ceremony in itself was easy to write, but I wanted something that would be really special for them to do that summed up their relationship. Much like a Candle ceremony or the Sand Ceremony, they needed something that just spoke out their two lives coming together. All I could think of was a Horseshoe Ceremony. I went looking for an example on line. Nothing but a website that I would have to pay to use this lady's horseshoe ceremony for only $4.99. That was not going to happen. Jeremy and Briana deserved something written just for them so I wrote one. Now, to get the horseshoes. I kept seeing them being joined together except to do that with real horseshoes would take a welder. 

I was in Hobby Lobby one day and I passed their Western displays. There, hanging on a hook were decorative horseshoes! I was elated. They were perfect right down to having holes for a small bolt to hold them together. I also wanted their names written on them, so I asked my 'Sis Tammi' if she could do that. She has excellent painting skills. They were absolutely perfect!!!!

I also wanted a special stole to wear for the ceremony and I had one that a friend had given me that had some symbol on it that I never really understood, so I found some really awesome appliques to iron on and I was ready for the big day. This was the first time I was able to perform a wedding in jeans, white blouse and boots!!! This Texas girl's heart was so full!!

The wedding was held out at Van Dickson's Ranch in Skull Valley. I never knew that the place existed or that it was so beautiful. It was the ideal venue for Jeremy and Briana, as there were horses in the stables and everything had a Western flare.

Things went great during the ceremony, although I was really nervous. I think it was due to the fact that I knew them. I wanted everything to go smoothly, and it did. I had put tissues in the front of my ceremony notebook and sure enough we needed them. The sun was shining right into Briana's eyes during the whole ceremony which made her eyes water. So she needed the tissues. We had practiced Jeremy putting the horseshoes together and a couple of times he had dropped the wing nut, so I went out and found some ribbon in mint and brown so that if he dropped it during the ceremony I could tie the ribbon around them and that would suffice. He didn't drop the nut after all, so after the horseshoes were together, then Briana tied the ribbon around them. I pronounced them husband and wife and that was that!

I could smell some mighty fine BBQ being prepared as we went  into the tents where the reception was to be held. We visited with friends and a lot of folks came up and let me know they really appreciated the ceremony. No one noticed my little mistakes in verbiage and they loved that God was included (like I would leave that part out!).

One woman came up and asked me if  I had planned what happened. I asked her what she meant, and she said that two longhorns had walked right in behind us as we stood under the tree. That's why you needed to see the photo of the couple and minister standing in the same spot we stood. I thought that was pretty cool to have those two longhorn walk past as the ceremony was underway.  I later learned that their names were Elmer and JAKE. Another synchronistic moment.

We are sitting waiting for the photo shoot to be over and were enjoying some appetizers when I noticed a dragonfly landed on one of the flowers in the vase on our table. Then just as I was about so show Marty, he saw it too, and then it flew away. Yikes, another synchronistic moment. I was thinking about what a special day it had been and now I am blessed with seeing a dragonfly when there was NO water to be found anywhere! You guys do know I LOVE dragonflies, right?

Texas BBQ!!!!

Finally it was time to eat. I had been smelling that BBQ for long enough...it was cooking in one of those awesome drums made into a smoker. We went through the line and I saw the brisket and I could have been back in Texas at that moment. There is nothing like Texas made BBQ anywhere on the face of the earth. Made me homesick. I took one bite of that brisket and it was like taking a bite of my mom's secret recipe brisket. I let the crowd die down and went to tell the guys at the pit that their BBQ was much like a taste of Texas . Low and behold one of the guys starts telling me that he grew up in LaGrange but moved to the Austin area and lived in a geodome house out by Lake Travis in the 70's.  That's when one of the other guys said he grew up in Austin, and of course the BBQ tasted Texas, because it was a Texas passed down recipe. I felt like I had this huge blast from my past blow through me. The guy who had lived in the geodome said that the dome was on Comanche Trail. I was astounded. Couldn't believe it. I was in the midst of a huge Texas Synchronistic Moment!

My parents co-owned a cabin, built by my dad and his business partner's Rowdy Yates and gosh, can't remember the other guy's name. It was on Comanche Trail. Comanche Trail goes north of 620 out to what some of us knew all too well....Hippie Hollow and on to Windy Point where the swimming was great. The photo below shows Hippie Hollow on the bottom right and Windy Point bottom left. The small black circle is where the cabin was. Talk about bringing back even more memories.

There's the cabin where I spent so much time in the summer with friends and family alike.

 I don't think I could have had a more glorious day if I had tried. I had woken with a level 10 migraine Saturday morning. Took my meds and stayed in bed until it was time to get ready for the wedding. The migraine was gone and the rest of the day was planned by someone much higher than I.

We stayed at the reception until the limo came to get the wedding party and I drove home wondering what all the synchronicities  meant, then it came to me like a bolt of lightning. It was the 25th of June.  The 31st anniversary of my Dad's meeting with Jesus in Heaven. I had now  lived more years without him and I had with him on earth. Very strange feeling. But know what? He made a way for me to see how much God loves me, enough to allow my Dad to give me all the Western, all the Texas signs to get through to say one more time in my ear as I lay down to sleep.

As of this writing I realized another synchronistic moment happened when Briana's Dad came up to me after the wedding party had walked out from the ceremony and the family had all been escorted out  and said, "I'd be happy to escort you." What a sweet thing to do, never had that happen before. Just another reminder...Daddy's love their little girls no matter how old we get.

Happy New Moon in Aries

Are you feeling change in the wind and a newfound excitement for what the future holds? 

If so, you are feeling the New Moon’s effect on you. 

Today’s New Moon comes to link your past with your future. Looking back at the past you may see there was a lot of chaos and feelings of being overwhelmed and wondering where you were going to end up. The news is good as you look to the future. Are you sensing that change is coming?  Well, you are right because this next month will bring with it the gifts of direction and renewed organization where chaos was reigning before.

As with any time of tremendous change caution is urged so that the change can settle into your bones, so to speak. It has to be birthed into your being and that takes time to mature. Allow yourself some much needed time alone. Go out into nature. Bath yourself with essential oils such as:

• ·         Orange: Emotional balance, overall health, cleansing/purifying
• ·         Tangerine: Cleansing, healthy immune system
• ·         Vetiver: Calming, grounding
• ·         Lavender: Calming, skin health and recovery
• ·         Chamomile: Calming, immune healthy immune function

A new moon represents the end of one phase and the beginning of a new one.  It means there are so many new opportunities lie before you. You are looking at a time to put your intentions and prayers to the future with renewed hope and peace. This is a time to let go of old habits and traits and things and people who do not serve you for your highest good. It is a time to make your vision board including all your hopes and wishes for your life. 

Remember though, not all things will come to pass within this new moon period. It is just that this is a time where you can see clearly what serves you best and is a time to get those intentions and prayers down in a tangible form, such as a vision board or a list in your journal. A new moon’s inspiration lasts until the next new moon which occurs on May 7, 2016.  It is best however to make those intentions known early in the cycle rather than waiting for the last days, as your sense of being able to see clearly diminishes as the days go by.

This new moon definitely brings a huge sense of change, enthusiasm and higher consciousness. It also has some other aspects that it brings into our lives. The position of Uranus and Pluto is diminishing after bringing years of confusion and turmoil. The other is the position of Saturn and Uranus that is new and fresh bringing with it structure and solidity for the changes occurring for the rest of this entire year.

This New Moon of April 2016 exemplifies the perfect transition from one spiritual place into a new one.  Bringing order out of chaos and it will be something that stays throughout the rest of 2016, so one needs to take it slow and allow for the change to solidify in your life. Change that is going to totally transform our life doesn’t some fast and furious. It comes slow like a flowering plant come to life in the Spring. 

Allow this new Moon to be the start of true Spring in the fertile soil of your soul. It’s time to grow!

Healing Touch ~ Reiki

I open my eyes to the new day. Before I even move there is that pressure I know so well. It's a migraine morning. I roll over, find my Maxalt and take one. My eyes hurt from the bright sun shining through the bathroom window. I roll over and try to fall back asleep. I hear Gracie running into the bedroom and know she's about to jump on the bed to say good morning. She arrives as I thought and settles herself on my pillow. Next comes the sound of 80 pounds of love about to take a flying leap onto the bed, which means Esme will be the next to greet me this morning. Sure enough that 80 pounds of love leaps onto the bed, straddles me and licks my face to fulfill her role to make sure Mom is awake. They both jump off the bed, having completed their morning mission.

Sleep is not an option. It's way to bright from the bathroom window, so I head for the kitchen to get my morning meds on board. Hot chocolate is the preferred choice instead of the acidy coffee which will make the nausea worse. I make sure there are two Zofran in with my meds. I heat up a scone and go to the couch where I recline back, sharing the heating blanket with Marty, who is sitting on the loveseat studying for his A&P test. I get my pills down, the hot chocolate feels good. I realize that it is 16 degrees outside and have my answer for the arrival of this migraine.

My spine is in agony. From the top of my cervical vertebrae to the lowest sacral vertebra, the nerves are screaming in unison. I know the Maxalt should be working by now, yet there is minimal head relief. I get up from the couch and get myself into the Reiki room. I turn on the calming music, use some essential oils called Transformation and set my intentions for the vasospasms to subside and for the spinal nerves to calm down. As I climb onto the table and lay on my back I feel the pain so acutely and the nausea comes rolling in again. I put the eye cover over my eyes and begin to breathe. Breathing deeply in with healing light, breathing out all that is negatively affecting my body. I fall asleep.

I am awakened my a gentle touch on my forehead.
Marty has come to check on me. He gently

soothes my forehead and I ask him if he would massage my spine. Once he begins to run his thumbs on either side of my spine I realize just how much pain there is in my cervical area and then down in my lumbar area. More deep breathing is needed to release the toxins built up in these areas. Gracie jumps up onto the Reiki table and settles herself next to my left shoulder. I strat to tell her to get down because this is too much pain for her to handle. I feel Esme jump up and try to settle herself between my legs. She immediately jumps down and lays on the floor beside the table. She cannot take the pain, probably because of the false pregnancy she is dealing with.

Marty continues to rub along my spine and I continue the breathing  I am still concerned about Gracie being on the table so I reach up to rub her and assess how she is taking it all in. Her entire spine is extremely hot. She's helping to take the pain away. I start to tell her to get down, only to realize that she is the feistiest of our girls. She assures me that she can handle this. As soon as I feel the pain subside I thank Marty for helping and turn onto my side.






I get up and take a hot bath, which I need to wash away any toxins that are lingering on my skin. I need the water also because I am connected to water. I need to immerse myself to keep balanced and grounded. The water does what it is supposed to do and when I rise out of it to dry off the nerve pain down my spine is gone. I can now get ready to do see my Physiatrist for Mannitol shots in my lower back on the right side.

I am grateful for Reiki.
I am grateful for my Reiki table which has been infused with healing.

I am grateful for Esme who also knows how to heal.

I am grateful for the wisdom which has come with age so that  know what to do to bring healing to my brain which migraines come.








I am grateful for God's healing that flows abundantly...living water that we all need.
